Benefits of Pure Goodness Shea Cream

Winter weather making your skin dry and itchy? Never fear Pure Goodness Shea Cream is here! I'm asked all the time, "What exactly is Shea Cream?" Here's the answer from the person who makes this wonderful product.
Shea Cream is a thick, rich lotion that has been developed to absorb quickly into your skin and not leave you feeling greasy. It is made with shea butter, avocado oil, and sweet almond oil. It contains no alcohol, so it will not dry your skin like some "lotions" do. Because Shea Cream is a wet product, I do use a preservative. The preservative I use is called Optiphen, it is paraben and famelghyde free, so it is safe for you and will keep your lotion fresh!
Shea Cream is available in three sizes; four, eight and 16 ounce jars. There are also a variety of fragrances. I can also custom make this product so if there is a particular fragrance you would like let me know, I can probably get it, and would be happy to make a small batch for you! Of course fragrance free is also always a choice.
If you have used my Shea Cream or have questions please feel free to leave a comment! I would love to hear from you!

Pure Goodness Facial Cleansing Bars

About a month ago, I finally got it right! For close to a year, I've been trying to create a facial cleansing bar that will cleanse gently, yet leave your skin feeling fresh and clean. The Pure Goodness Facial Cleansing Bar has been created, tested, and ready for your beautiful face!
What makes these bars so special? First of all, there are two different bars. Everyone does not have the same skin type, therefore, everyone should not use the same soap. One bar is designed for normal to oily skin, while the other is for normal to dry skin. Both bars are glycerin based soaps. Glycerin naturally attracts moisture, so just by using this soap, you will naturally hydrate your skin.
The normal to oily bar also contains olive leaf powder and French green clay to help absorb unwanted oil.  It also has tea tree and rosemary essential oils which has antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
The normal to dry bar contains wonderful shea butter to soften your skin, as well as lavender and geranium essential oils which reduce inflammation and redness, and has firming and toning properties.
Both bars smell delightfully clean and fresh. Personally I use them both, just depending on how my skin feels that day. Often I will use the oily skin bar in the morning and the dry skin bar at night. Please feel free to ask questions or leave comments, I would love to hear from you.

What's the Big Deal About Goats Milk Soap?

6/9/2016

Have you ever wondered what the big deal is with goats milk soap? Why is everyone looking for it? And is it really different from other handcrafted soap? I'm going to tell you about this wonderful soap and some benefits of using it.
First you should know that goats milk soap is different from other soap. While most handcrafted soaps are very good for your skin, and provide wonderful moisturizing qualities, goats milk soap is more beneficial to those who tend to have drier skin. Goats milk naturally contains lactic acid, which helps to slough off dry skin cells. It is high in vitamin A, which helps with the healing process, and goats milk is high in fat. This helps produce a rich, creamy moisturizing bar of soap. It is a very gentle soap and can be used from head to toe!
You might be wondering where I get the goats milk I use in my soap. Well, from my goat of course!! That's right I am a proud owner of a beautiful Nubian Dairy Goat named Rosie. Rosie lives on my friends farm and from May through September she graciously provides us with all the milk we need for an entire year of soap making!
What is our best selling goats milk soap? Without a doubt it is our Oatmeal, Milk and Honey. It is so popular we have a hard time keeping it in stock! Coming in second is Lavender and Goats Milk soap. We have a total of 14 different goats milk bars. To take a look at the goats milk soap that we offer, here at Pure Goodness Bath & Body Shoppe click the link below.
I hope this helps you better understand the benefits of goats milk soap, and the difference between this and other handcrafted soap. Feel free to ask questions or leave comments, I would love to hear from you!

My Time In Florida

5/26/2016

Every year, for a few days in the spring, I attend the Annual Soap & Cosmetic Conference, which is organized by The Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild (HSCG). This year the conference was in Wesley Chapel, Florida. A beautiful city located just outside of Tampa. When I arrived in Wesley Chapel, I was ready for a full three days of seminars, networking with other soap makers and some social time. I was definitely not disappointed.
The HSCG sets very high standards for those who join the guild. Members are given opportunities to take Certification Exams and become certified soap makers. I'm excited to report that I  took and passed the exam! There were so many classes packed into those three days. I took part in how to make facial serums, glycerin soap, natural deodorant, and shaving soap. I attended classes on product photography (I'll be sprucing up my website photos for sure!), soap chemistry, website design and wholesale trade shows. The motivational speakers were fantastic and I loved every minutes I was there.
In my free time I enjoyed the abundant Florida wildlife. I saw everything from alligators, turtles and snakes to many different kinds of large noisy birds, some had nests of babies.
The conference, for me is a time to see, and learn about what is new and exciting in the soap making industry. It's a time to connect with others who make bath and body products and love it as much as I do! A time to share and compare notes with other business owners, to see what is working and not working. It is also a time to relax and rejuvenate, so I return home with fresh ideas to bring to you!
